Treatment plan for immature teratoma in teenage girls

Treatment plan for immature teratoma in teenage girls

What is the treatment plan for immature teratoma in girls? Although teratoma mostly occurs in middle-aged people, it does not mean that only adults will suffer from it. In fact, girls may also suffer from this disease. Once diagnosed, early surgical resection must be strived for to avoid the malignant transformation of benign teratoma due to delayed surgery, and to prevent tumor infection, rupture, bleeding and complications.

1. Surgical treatment

Once a teratoma is diagnosed, surgery should be performed as soon as possible. For cases diagnosed as malignant tumors, chemotherapy should be given before surgery to create conditions for elective surgery.

2. Immunotherapy

Transfer factor, 1-2 times a week, 1 vial each time. Or use short anaerobic bacteriocin at the same time, starting from 0.1ml/time, once a week, increasing by 0.1ml each time, until 2ml/time, for 2 years.

3. Radiation therapy

Currently, the instrument is used in cases of malignant teratomas with microscopic or macroscopic residuals.

Prognosis of teratoma: The prognosis of teratoma is closely related to factors such as age, clinical classification, incidence of malignant transformation, early or late treatment, and treatment results. The total survival rate of surgery and chemotherapy for children under 2 years old is 85% to 90%. Surgical resection of benign teratoma can achieve complete cure, while malignant teratoma has metastasis and poor prognosis. Surgery without chemotherapy has a high recurrence rate and a very poor prognosis.

Warm reminder: Ovarian teratoma can occur at any age, but it is most common between the ages of 20 and 50. Malignant tumors rarely have symptoms in the early stages of the disease, so early diagnosis is difficult. First of all, ovarian tumors are different from cysts. When the cysts are small, they can be dispelled with drugs, but for tumors, surgery is the only treatment method.
