What are the causes of glioma

Glioma is a malignant tumor disease, which accounts for about 46% of intracranial tumors. It develops quickly and causes great harm to the body. Once a glioma is diagnosed, it must be treated in time without delay. So, what are the causes of glioma? Let's take a look!

1. Origin of tumor: There is a theory that the cause of tumor is the embryonic remnant of primitive cells growing into tumors. These remnant cells can cause chronic proliferation due to inflammatory stimulation and form tumors. Multiple gliomas, or gliomatosis, may have more than one tumor.

2. Biochemical environment: The levels of pigment oxidase, phosphokinase and ATP in glioma cells are lower than those in normal cells, but β-glucuronidase is higher than that in normal brain tissue (except ependymoma). LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) is different from that in normal brain tissue due to the high metabolism of tumor tissue.

3. Genetic factors: There are different reports on the familial incidence of glioma. In the past 20 years, the chromosomes of glioma have been studied and it has been found that most of them have abnormalities in the C group chromosomes, but the causal relationship with glioma is still unclear.

4. Bad living habits: such as being partial to certain types of food, drinking, smoking, etc. Although there is not enough evidence to prove that these factors are related to the occurrence of glioma, they have been confirmed to be related to the occurrence of gastrointestinal tumors and lung tumors.

Knowing the causes of glioma, we must take precautions in our daily lives to avoid glioma. Once we are sick, we must go to the hospital for treatment in time.
