What harm will fibroids bring to us

Fibromas are benign tumors in the dermis caused by focal proliferation of fibroblasts or histiocytes. They can occur at any age, but are more common in young and middle-aged people, and more common in women than in men. They can occur naturally or after trauma. The clinical features of the disease are yellow-brown or light red intradermal papules or nodules. The lesions grow slowly, exist for a long time, and rarely disappear on their own. So, what harm does fibromas bring?

(1) Skin lesions: After trauma, skin fibroma may develop ulcers, papules or nodules in the skin, which are hard and raised, with a pushable base but connected to the epidermis. The surface of the skin is smooth or rough, with varying shades of color, ranging from normal skin color to yellow-brown, dark brown or light red. It is more common in middle-aged adults and rarely in children. It is usually a round or oval papule or nodule, about 1 cm in diameter, usually not more than 2 cm, and occasionally 2 cm or larger. The skin lesions often persist, but may disappear on their own after a few years.

(2) Occasionally there is mild pain. Some patients may develop multiple fibroids, which are associated with lupus erythematosus and HIV infection treated with prednisone or immunosuppressants.

(3) The surface of the nodule is smooth or rough and warty. It is often single or multiple. It is firm and hard to the touch. It is adhered to the epidermis above but not to the deep tissue. It can move freely below. When pressed laterally, a tiny depression appears in the center of the nodule, which is characteristic. Fitzpatri proposed the name "dimple sign" to indicate its characteristic. The "dimple sign" is positive (if the tumor is pinched from both sides with the thumb and index finger, the skin above it will be slightly sunken.

Warm reminder: timely and scientific treatment of fibroids is crucial. Even after surgery, patients need to pay special attention to self-protection, especially the recovery of the affected area. You need to strictly follow the medicines prescribed by professional doctors. If you have taken the medicines prescribed by the doctor but are still weak, do not buy some medicines on your own to avoid aggravating the condition.
