What are the surgical treatments for localized endometrial cancer? There are two treatments

Localized endometrial cancer is generally treated with extrafascial hysterectomy and bilateral adnexectomy. If the patient is relatively young and does not present high-risk conditions, the ovaries can be selectively preserved. However, if there are high-risk factors, pelvic and para-aortic lymph node sampling and clearance are also required.

Endometrial cancer is a malignant tumor with a relatively high incidence rate. This disease is very serious and may endanger life at any time, so treatment should be taken seriously. If the lesion is localized, it means that the disease is in the early stage. The treatment difficulty at this time is relatively small. As long as the surgery is performed in time, the lesion can be effectively removed. So what are the surgical treatments for localized endometrial cancer?
1. Surgical treatment of localized endometrial cancer
At this time, the lesion is limited to the uterine body and has not spread to other parts. At this time, the general treatment method is extrafascial hysterectomy and bilateral adnexectomy. If there are no high-risk factors and the patient is relatively young, the ovaries can be selectively retained. However, if there are high-risk factors, such as the pathological type is clear cell carcinoma, the depth of invasion of the muscle layer exceeds one-half or the diameter of the tumor exceeds two centimeters, pelvic and para-aortic lymph node sampling and clearance are required. This can expand the scope of surgery, better eliminate lesions, and prevent the spread of cancer cells.
2. Surgical care for localized endometrial cancer
1. Diet adjustment
The diet must be light, and you can eat some high-protein and low-fat foods. Such food helps to enhance the body's immunity and promote postoperative recovery. You can also eat some fresh fruits and vegetables appropriately. Do not eat spicy food, overly greasy food, or raw or cold food.
2. Strict follow-up
Although this disease can be effectively relieved through surgical treatment, it is still possible to relapse after surgery, and the recurrence rate 2 to 3 years after surgery is as high as 75% to 95%, so strict follow-up is necessary. Within 2 to 3 years after surgery, you should go to the hospital for a checkup every three months. If there is no recurrence for more than three years, you can go for a checkup every six months. If it exceeds five years, you can go for a checkup every other year.
3. Provide psychological care
Localized endometrial cancer is a malignant tumor. If the patient can maintain a good attitude, the success rate of the operation can be effectively improved. Therefore, family members and medical staff should provide appropriate psychological counseling to patients, including preoperative counseling and postoperative counseling.
