What is HCC in situ? A stage of liver cancer

The so-called in situ liver cancer is an old saying, and the medical community has deleted this term. In situ liver cancer is the earliest stage of cancer. At this time, it usually has not yet invaded or metastasized. It must be treated early. It can be treated through surgical resection, interventional therapy, liver transplantation and other methods.

In real life, we know that our livers need to deal with various toxins every day, so it is easy to get sick for various reasons. If we do not pay attention to it at this time, it may lead to serious illness and induce cancer. Let's learn about what is liver cancer in situ!
In fact, the term "in situ liver cancer" is not accurate enough based on current medical knowledge. At present, according to the relevant instructions in the 2018 version of the primary liver cancer treatment guidelines, the term "in situ liver cancer" has been deleted.
At present, the classification of liver cancer usually includes two main categories. The first category, based on the cytological type, can be divided into hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, and mixed cell carcinoma; the second category, based on the size of the liver cancer, can be divided into massive liver cancer, nodular liver cancer, and small liver cancer.
The so-called carcinoma in situ, also known as intraepithelial carcinoma and preinvasive cancer, is the earliest stage of cancer in which the cancer cells are confined to the inner layer of the epithelium and do not protrude from the basement membrane, without invasion or metastasis.
Generally speaking, the progression of cancer is like this: normal cells first cause mild atypical hyperplasia, followed by moderate atypical hyperplasia, then severe atypical hyperplasia (carcinoma in situ), then early cancer (intramucosal carcinoma), then invasive cancer, and finally metastatic cancer. Liver carcinoma in situ is the earliest stage of liver cancer, and it can only be completely cured if it is surgically removed.
In addition, if liver cancer unfortunately occurs, it is necessary to seek early and active treatment and choose the appropriate treatment plan according to your individual condition. The current main treatment methods include surgical resection, liver transplantation, interventional therapy, targeted drug therapy, and some patients can choose systemic chemotherapy or local radiotherapy. The purpose is to control tumor growth. On this basis, comprehensive treatment can be considered, and the use of traditional Chinese medicine as an auxiliary treatment can also be considered.
