Four common complications of cervical cancer Common methods to prevent cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is one of the most common female reproductive tract malignancies in women, and ranks first among female reproductive tract malignancies in my country. Cervical cancer can also cause some complications. Let's take a look at what are the complications of cervical cancer?

Causes of cervical cancer

Viral infection

In recent years, three human herpes viruses have been found to be associated with cervical cancer: type II papillomavirus and cytomegalovirus.

Excess estrogen

Estrogen has the function of stimulating the proliferation of cervical epithelium. Excessive estrogen can lead to significant proliferation of cervical epithelium and even cancer. In view of this, some scholars believe that excessive estrogen may cause cervical cancer.

Multiple pregnancies

The incidence of cervical cancer increases with the number of pregnancies, and is higher in women with more than 7 pregnancies than in women with more than 1. The incidence of cervical cancer in women with two pregnancies is more than 10 times.

Sexual life

A large amount of data from home and abroad confirms that women who marry early, have children early, have multiple births, and have sexual dysfunction have a higher incidence of cervical cancer. The incidence of cervical cancer in women who have sex before the age of 18 is four times that of those who have sex after the age of 18, and the incidence of cervical cancer in women who have been married multiple times is higher.

Four major complications of cervical cancer

1. Vaginal bleeding:

Irregular vaginal bleeding is the main symptom of cervical cancer patients (80%~85%), especially after menopause.

2. Increased vaginal discharge:

It is also the main symptom of patients with cervical cancer. It mainly occurs before vaginal bleeding. At first, the vaginal discharge may have no odor. As the cancer grows, secondary infection and necrosis will increase the amount of discharge, like rice washing water or mixed with blood, and have a foul odor.

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease:

This is one of the complications of cervical cancer, the main manifestations are abdominal pain, etc.

Pyometra:

Cervical cancer often occurs in severe cases, which is a common complication of cervical cancer. It is mainly due to the obstruction of the cervical canal by cancer, accompanied by systemic fever and vaginal discharge.

Prevention of cervical cancer

1. Strengthen publicity and education, and popularize cancer knowledge. Through various forms of publicity and education at all levels of medical prevention institutions, popularize cervical cancer knowledge, and encourage school-age women to actively participate in cancer prevention screening and seek medical treatment as soon as possible. At the same time, we should also ease the fear of cancer and build confidence in defeating cancer. Improve the vigilance and awareness of medical staff about early cervical cancer; enhance the sense of responsibility, avoid missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis, and delay patient treatment.

Second, insist on the screening and treatment of cervical cancer. Establish and improve cancer prevention organizations at all levels, unify leadership, and conduct regular, extensive, and in-depth screening of cervical cancer. For women over 30 years old, regular cervical smear cytology examinations can detect early cervical cancer without obvious symptoms.

3. Actively prevent and control diseases related to cervical cancer The cause of cervical cancer is still unclear. It may be the result of several factors. Actively preventing and controlling diseases related to cervical cancer is one of the important measures to prevent cervical cancer.
