What are the diagnostic criteria for liver cancer? Ten points to diagnose liver cancer

In today's society, the death rate from liver cancer is increasing year by year. So in our real life, we should develop good habits in our lives. We should develop regular living habits to prevent the possibility of liver cancer. The following experts will explain to us what are the diagnostic basis for liver cancer?

The diagnosis of liver cancer is based on the following:

1. Pain in the liver area

It is a dull pain in the liver area, which can often radiate to the right shoulder, and occasionally to the left shoulder. The pain is milder for cancerous tumors located deep in the body, and more severe for those located near the liver capsule. If there is perihepatitis or the liver grows rapidly, the liver capsule stretches sharply, and the pain is more obvious. If the liver cancer nodule ruptures and bleeds under the capsule, severe pain may occur and peritoneal irritation may occur in the upper abdomen or the entire abdomen.

2. Gastrointestinal symptoms

Patients with liver cancer often have gastrointestinal symptoms, such as belching, abdominal distension, vomiting, indigestion, and a significant loss of appetite.

3. Weight loss

It may not be obvious in the early stage, but as the tumor grows and enlarges, the patient loses weight very quickly, and eventually becomes cachectic. Patients with rapid disease progression have become very thin 1 to 3 months after the doctor's diagnosis.

4. Fatigue

Liver cancer patients often feel weak. The reasons for fatigue may be related to the reduced metabolism of the liver, the toxins produced by cancer cells and the toxins produced after cancer tissue necrosis, and insufficient calorie intake.

5. Fever

Generally, it is an irregular low-grade fever. The cause of the fever may be that the cancer tissue becomes a foreign protein, or that the inactivation of substances such as protocholanolone in the body is reduced in the liver, causing low-grade fever, or that the resistance of liver cancer patients is reduced, or that there is infection in some part of the body.

6. Enlarged spleen

Generally, the spleen of liver cancer patients is not enlarged. If liver cancer patients have cirrhosis and the pressure in the portal vein increases, the spleen may be enlarged. If the patient does not have cirrhosis but has an enlarged spleen, the formation of cancer thrombus in the portal vein should be considered.

7. Jaundice

It is usually only mild or moderate and is more common in patients with cholangiocarcinoma.

8. Ascites

Patients with liver cancer often have ascites, which may be caused by complications of liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension, compression of the portal vein by cancer nodules, extrahepatic metastasis to the peritoneum or metastasis to lymph nodes compressing the portal vein, portal vein thrombosis, etc. The amount of ascites can reach three to four liters. Ascites conforms to the characteristics of transudate, and is light yellow or straw yellow, some are bloody, and a few are milky elk.

9. Vomiting blood

It is often caused by portal hypertension, esophageal varices and rupture of gastric varices caused by concurrent liver cirrhosis, and may also cause black stools. Symptoms such as nose, gum bleeding or subcutaneous bleeding may also occur.

10. Anemia

In the early stage, the increased secretion of erythropoiesis does not cause anemia. In the late stage, anemia often occurs, which may be caused by less food intake and bone marrow metastasis.

Kind tips

Many patients suffer from liver cancer due to various reasons. In many cases, liver cancer has certain genetic factors, so patients must cure liver cancer, cut off the source of infection, and prevent the condition from worsening. In addition, we must follow a good diet and daily routine, improve immunity, and avoid the risk of the disease developing and worsening.
