What are the treatment principles for lung cancer? Summary of effective methods for treating lung cancer

There are many considerations in the treatment of diseases, and it is not based on your mood. The same is true for the treatment of lung cancer. Therefore, only by following the principles can you achieve better results in the treatment of your own disease. Therefore, everyone must pay special attention. If lung cancer can be treated with surgery, try to have surgery. Also, do not force treatment, and give up when it is time to give up.

Although conditions are better now, many people still have bad living habits. These bad habits often lead to diseases, especially lung cancer. Because whether it is smoking or a lot of air pollution, they are all factors that induce lung cancer. Although the incidence of lung cancer is high, the treatment methods are also advanced. However, experts remind patients to follow the following principles during treatment.

1. Perform surgery if possible

The principle of lung cancer treatment is to perform surgery whenever possible. This is because surgery is the most effective way to cure lung cancer. If the cancer is still small and there is no sign of metastasis, it may be enough to remove the lobe where the cancer is located (the lung has five lobes, two on the left and three on the right). Otherwise, one lung needs to be removed. For cancers that are too large and have metastasized, doctors usually do not consider surgery. Auxiliary therapies that cannot be treated surgically include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, mixed therapy, radiotherapy, etc., but their treatment effects are far less than those of surgery.

When to choose radiotherapy:

Radiotherapy is similar to surgery and is also a regional local treatment method.

Radiotherapy mainly focuses on local symptom control, including hemoptysis or local lung lobe collapse caused by the tumor, as well as the prevention and control of local recurrence after surgery.

It can be used in combination with chemotherapy to enhance the treatment of locally advanced lung cancer, or for palliative treatment of patients with advanced lung cancer.

Generally, the treatment is performed once a day for five consecutive days a week, with a break on weekends, for several weeks.

Patients can be treated as outpatients or inpatients.
