Symptoms of lung cancer before death generally include hemoptysis, movement disorders, metastatic pain, and dysphagia. 1. Hemoptysis: Elderly people who die of lung cancer often have lung infections, large amounts of sputum, and often cough up blood. Most of these are caused by tumor rupture and bleeding. In a few cases, tumors can invade blood vessels, causing massive hemoptysis and leading to suffocation. 2. Movement disorders: When lung cancer invades the mediastinum and compresses the organs or tissues at the entrance of the chest, it can cause severe chest and shoulder pain, upper limb venous dilatation, edema, arm pain, and upper limb movement disorders. 3. Transfer pain: Before elderly people die from lung cancer, there are often distant metastases. Bone metastases can cause pain in the corresponding area. Brain metastases can cause headaches, central nervous system damage, and even coma. Metastases to the liver can cause liver damage and ascites. 4. Dysphagia: Lung cancer can invade the mediastinum, compress the esophagus, and cause dysphagia. Elderly people with lung cancer will experience symptoms of systemic organ failure before dying, mostly manifested as malnutrition, rapid weight loss, anemia and depression. |
