Gallbladder cancer and pancreatic cancer can be distinguished

The differences between pancreatic cancer and gallbladder cancer are as follows:

1. Gallbladder cancer occurs in the gallbladder, while pancreatic cancer occurs in the pancreas. The two are completely different organs. The pancreas is mainly located in the left rear part of the upper abdomen, while the gallbladder is located in the gallbladder fossa at the base of the liver.

2. The clinical symptoms are different. Pancreatic cancer presents with persistent pain in the upper abdomen, which spreads to the waist and back. Gallbladder cancer presents with pain on the right side of the upper abdomen, which is obviously painful to touch.

3. In addition, the types of cytology and treatment methods are also very different.

Gallbladder cancer may not have specific symptoms in the early stage, mainly manifested as non-specific symptoms such as right upper abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, abdominal distension, anorexia of greasy food, indigestion, loss of appetite, gastrointestinal bleeding, weight loss, fever, fatigue, etc., similar to chronic cholecystitis. As the lesion progresses, the pain gradually worsens and may radiate to the shoulders and back, and jaundice, weight loss, general edema, and even cachexia gradually appear. During physical examination, the gallbladder can be felt to be enlarged, and there is relatively fixed tenderness. Some patients with gallbladder cancer may also have acute perforation or internal fistula, which may also lead to bile duct bleeding or liver failure.
