Can left bronchial lung cancer undergo surgery?

Can left bronchial lung cancer be operated on?

Left bronchial lung cancer can be operated on, and cannot be operated on, including extensive metastasis of cancer cells, severe visceral dysfunction, etc., other treatment methods and targeted therapy. This disease has a variety of pathological types, including adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, etc., each type has a different degree of malignancy and requires targeted treatment methods.

1. Left bronchial lung cancer can be treated with surgery

If it is early or mid-stage cancer, it can be cured as long as surgery is performed in time. For a small number of patients with advanced cancer, if the lesion is limited to one side, or accompanied by solitary metastasis, and there are no contraindications to surgery, surgery can also be performed. There are various surgical methods for this disease, and the primary lesion and possible metastatic lymphatic tissue should be completely removed. If necessary, pneumonectomy can be considered, but the risk is higher. If no metastasis is diagnosed, the 5-year survival rate after surgery can reach 50%.

2. Situations where surgery is not possible

If the cancer is in the advanced stage and has widely metastasized, or is accompanied by severe visceral dysfunction and multiple groups of mediastinal lymph node metastases, surgical treatment cannot be accepted.

3. Other treatments

If surgery is not possible, molecular targeted therapy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc. can be used to prolong survival and improve quality of life to a certain extent.

Early lung cancer can be cured with timely treatment, and it is also necessary to combine radiotherapy and chemotherapy according to the pathological type to reduce the postoperative recurrence rate.
