What are the symptoms before death from nasopharyngeal cancer

What are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer before death?

1. Respiration nosebleed: Bleeding symptoms may occur in the early stage, manifested as blood in sputum after suctioning the nose, or blood in the nose when blowing the nose. In the early stage, there is only a small amount of blood in the sputum or nose, sometimes not. In the late stage, there is more bleeding, and there may be nosebleeds.

2. Tinnitus, hearing loss, and ear occlusion: When nasopharyngeal carcinoma occurs in the lateral wall of the nasopharynx or the upper lip of the Eustachian tube opening, the tumor compresses the Eustachian tube and may cause unilateral tinnitus or hearing loss, catarrhal otitis media, unilateral tinnitus or hearing loss, and ear occlusion are symptoms before death from nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

3. Headache: Headache is a common symptom before death from nasopharyngeal cancer, accounting for 68%. 6%, can be the first symptom or symptom. In the early stage, the headache is intermittent and the location is not fixed. In the late stage, it is a continuous migraine with a fixed location. The reason is that in the early stage, it may be caused by neurovascular reflex or stimulation of the first terminal nerve of the trigeminal nerve, while in the late stage, it is usually caused by tumor destruction of the skull base or intracranial spread.

4. Diplopia: Tumors invading the abducens nerve often result in double vision when viewed outward. Invasion of the trochlear nerve often causes inward strabismus and diplopia; diplopia accounts for 6% and 2% to 19%, and is often damaged at the same time as the trigeminal nerve.

5. Nasal congestion: Symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer before death include nasal congestion caused by tumor blocking the posterior nostrils. The nasal congestion is milder when the tumor is small. As the tumor grows, the nasal congestion worsens, mostly unilaterally; if the tumor blocks both posterior nostrils, bilateral nasal congestion may occur.
