Can lymphoma recurrence be cured? How to prevent recurrence

Lymph is an important part of the human body, but if the body's function is disordered, lymphoma may occur. So, can lymphoma relapse be cured? How to prevent recurrence?

Lymph node tissue can occur in multiple locations such as oral lymphoma, brain lymphoma, stomach lymphoma, intestinal lymphoma, lung lymphoma, etc. Most lymphoma patients will first be affected by superficial lymph nodes, such as the armpit lymph, neck and groin, and enlarged lymph nodes are usually easy to find in these places.

To prevent lymphoma recurrence, single-drug maintenance therapy can be tried. Clinical research data show that single-drug rituximab helps delay the recurrence of lymphoma. The specific usage is once every 2-3 months. It is not clear whether it can reduce the chance of recurrence.

The main thing is regular check-ups. Patients go to the hospital for regular check-ups to effectively reduce the recurrence rate of lymphoma. The risk of recurrence is higher in the first two years after treatment, so the check-up frequency is higher. Usually, check-ups are conducted every 3 to 4 months, every six months after two years, and once a year after five years, and this is continued for life. The specific examination items depend on the location of the lesion and the type of pathology.

Generally speaking, due to the different specific conditions and treatment methods of different patients, the question of whether lymphoma recurrence can be cured cannot be generalized. Lymphoma is a cancer that is easier to treat and has a better prognosis, and the proportion of early treatment is quite considerable. However, whether lymphoma can be cured depends on the tissue type of the tumor, pathological stage, the patient's physical condition, and whether the treatment is appropriate.
