How to detect lung cancer early?

Usually, it needs to be judged by X-ray, CT, laryngoscopy and other examinations, but the most reliable is to do fiber bronchoscopy and then do a biopsy to determine that patients with early lung cancer will have mild symptoms such as cough and chest pain.

Low-dose lung CT is more sensitive than ordinary CT, and its specificity may be slightly lower, but it has less radiation, and is now more commonly used for early detection of lung cancer. The more common symptoms of early lung cancer are coughing and blood, but some patients do not have typical symptoms.

Can ordinary CT detect lung cancer?

1. Ordinary CT examination can detect lung masses and abnormalities. Masses require consideration of benign lung tumors, malignant tumors, severe lung diseases and tuberculosis. If CT examination finds spiculated edges on the lungs, it is likely that you have lung cancer. It is then divided into peripheral and central types. Peripheral lung cancer requires a lung puncture biopsy for pathological diagnosis, while central lung cancer requires a fiberbronchoscopy biopsy for pathological diagnosis.

2. It is impossible to confirm lung cancer by CT scan. Generally, CT scan can only make a preliminary diagnosis. The specific diagnosis still needs to be checked through the pathology report. Therefore, after the preliminary diagnosis, a puncture biopsy or pathology examination can be performed to make a specific judgment. If I want to check the symptoms more clearly, I can use MRI of the lungs for examination.

3. Lung cancer is a malignant tumor. Generally speaking, the early symptoms are not obvious and it is already in the late stage when discovered.
