What causes early nasopharyngeal cancer

What causes early nasopharyngeal cancer?

1. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the nasopharynx. Its cause is unknown. It is generally considered to be directly related to Epstein-Barr virus infection. It usually occurs at the top of the nasopharynx or on the side wall of the nasopharynx. It can cause dryness and pain in the nasopharynx, and bloody secretions may be present when inhaling in the morning. Some patients may also experience symptoms of hearing loss, tinnitus, and stuffy ears.

2. Nasal cancer is generally caused by Epstein-Barr virus infection, which can cause patients to experience dry and painful nasopharynx and blood in the breath. In severe cases, it can cause enlarged lymph nodes in the neck.

3. At the same time, people’s unhealthy lifestyles can also induce the occurrence of the disease, such as heavy smoking, eating pickled foods, air pollution, etc.

What causes ear congestion in nasopharyngeal cancer?

Because the tumor occurs in the pharyngeal recess, it can compress the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube, causing ear stuffiness, tinnitus and hearing loss. The ear stuffiness is persistent and becomes more severe as the tumor grows. If radiotherapy is performed, the tumor can shrink to varying degrees, making it smaller and the symptoms of ear stuffiness will be alleviated.

The stuffy ears caused by nasopharyngeal cancer are basically the same as those caused by otitis media with effusion. This is because the nasopharyngeal neoplasms of nasopharyngeal cancer patients block the opening of the Eustachian tube, which causes fluid accumulation in the middle ear. Patients will experience stuffy ears and hearing loss. Usually, nasal drops can relieve the symptoms, but they cannot cure it. If nasopharyngeal cancer causes such symptoms, it is likely that it is caused by functional disorders.
