Can you eat frozen apples?

Apples can still be eaten after being frozen, but their nutrients are gone. The nutrients in all fresh fruits will quickly oxidize and disappear after being destroyed, unless you have other means of preserving them.

Apple is a fruit with a high vitamin C content and has a strong recovery ability. Therefore, it is the best nutritional food and the best raw material for beauty and skin care. Apples are afraid of being moved but not frozen. Frozen apples are best stored indoors at 0-18 degrees without being squeezed or touched. Depending on the severity, it will take 10-60 hours to return to its original state. The appearance, feel, texture, taste and nutritional content are exactly the same as unfrozen apples.

How to store apples

Put a cup of water in the middle of the apples in the refrigerator. This is to use the principle of constantly evaporating the water in the cup to replenish water to the fruit to keep the fruit fresh. First, put the basket or basket containing the apples in a plastic bag, pour more than half a cup of water into a small cup, put the cup into the basket, and then put the apples into the basket. The apples should be placed along the edge of the cup for a week, but never let a large apple be directly on the cup, which will affect the evaporation of water. Let's stack the apples around the cup layer by layer, and then cover it with a lid. The surface of the lid is also wrapped with a plastic bag to enhance the overall sealing effect of the basket. Now tie the bag tightly, put on another layer of plastic bag, and tie the bag in the same way. Two layers of plastic bags can effectively reduce the evaporation of water from the bag. Usually put the wrapped basket in a cool place, generally in an environment within 20 degrees Celsius, which can keep the fruit fresh for more than 2 months. When you need to take the fruit, just open the lid and you can eat fresh fruit at any time. Do not put a large number of apples together, because the ethylene gas emitted by the apples cannot dissipate into the air, which will accelerate the rotting of the apples. You can spread the apples out in a dry, cool place.

Long-term storage method

Soak in salt water

It takes skill to preserve apples picked in the fall for winter. You should first select ripe apples without mechanical damage, soak them in 3% salt water for 6 minutes, then take them out to dry, and then wrap them in soft white paper and store them according to the following two methods: 1. Water tank storage method: First wash the water tank and dry it, put it in a cool place, and put a can filled with clean water at the bottom of the tank without covering the bottle cap. In the morning when the temperature is low, put the wrapped apples into the jar layer by layer. When the jar is full, seal the mouth with a piece of plastic film. This storage method can store apples for 5 months with a good quality rate of over 90%.

Wooden box storage method

Place several layers of paper on the bottom and around the box, and put 10 wrapped apples into a small plastic bag. In the morning when the temperature is low, place two bags full of apples face-to-face in the box. Fill the box layer by layer, cover it with several layers of paper, then seal it and place it in a cool place. This storage method can generally store apples for 6 months.
