Is lymphoma lymphoma?

Lymphoma is a highly malignant tumor. In the past, more than 90% of patients died within one year. After nearly half a century of research, most lymphomas can now be cured through effective treatment. Currently, the overall 10-year survival rate of lymphoma has increased to more than 50%. But many people are still unclear about whether lymphoma is lymph cancer.

Lymphoma is lymphoma, they are the same disease, just with different names. The main clinical manifestations of lymphoma are swollen lymph nodes, as well as repeated fever, itchy skin, cough, chest tightness, abdominal distension, abdominal pain and other symptoms. Malignant lymphoma metastasis to the liver and spleen can cause hepatomegaly; tumor cell infiltration of the lungs and pleura can cause coughing and pleural effusion; similarly, infiltration of bones can cause severe pain, seriously affecting the patient's quality of life.

The typical early signs of lymphoma are as follows:

1. Swollen lymph nodes throughout the body: cervical, axillary, and inguinal lymph nodes, and in the late stage the mediastinal lymph nodes may be affected.

2. Splenomegaly: About 30% of cases involve the spleen, which usually occurs in the later stages and is usually reactive hyperplasia or granuloma formation.

3. Digestive system: About 30% of patients have stomach, pancreas, and intestines affected, and may suffer from malabsorption or even ascites.

4. Cardiovascular system: Occasionally, exudative pericarditis occurs.

5. Hematopoietic system: Anemia is present, which is related to bone marrow involvement. Hemolytic anemia may occur in the late stage.

6. Liver damage: Jaundice may occur due to liver damage.

7. Pulmonary infiltration: Pleural effusion is the most common, accounting for 13-23%.

8. Kidney involvement: About 13% of cases have renal infiltration, and severe cases may develop renal failure.

9. Bone metastasis: about 5-15%, bone pain occurs.

10. Systemic symptoms: irregular fever, night sweats, and itching, among which itching is a specific symptom of Hodgkin's disease.
