How to tell if you have colon cancer

How do I tell if I have colon cancer?

Colon cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract. It mainly occurs in patients with chronic colon inflammation and a family history of multiple colon polyposis and colon cancer. It is not contagious. The main causes are high-fat diet, insufficient fiber intake, abdominal distension, indigestion, and mucus or mucopurulent bloody stools.

Many patients with early-stage colon cancer have no clinical symptoms, but as the disease progresses and the lesions increase, they may develop a series of common colon cancer symptoms, such as increased frequency of bowel movements, blood and mucus in the stool, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, intestinal obstruction, general fatigue, weight loss, and anemia.

Symptoms of right-sided colon cancer include abdominal pain, changes in size, abdominal mass, anemia, weight loss, or malignant fluid.

The symptoms of left-side colon cancer are: acute and chronic intestinal obstruction, difficulty in defecation, bloody stools. The late-stage symptoms of colon cancer are jaundice, ascites, edema and other symptoms of liver metastasis, as well as distant spread and metastasis of the tumor such as malignant lesions, masses in the anterior rectal fossa, and enlarged clavicular lymph nodes.

1. Change your bowel habits

Generally, patients with colon cancer will have some changes in their bowel movements in the early stages, such as changes in bowel habits, from the original daily routine of once to many times.

2. Changes in stool characteristics

Usually the original stool is normal, but when colon cancer occurs, the stool may become loose or dry. Sometimes there are even symptoms of incomplete intestinal obstruction, which need to be paid attention to.

3. Blood in the stool

There may also be blood in the stool or fresh blood.

4. Other symptoms

Such as abdominal pain, abdominal mass, etc. These symptoms are not unique to colon cancer, and these symptoms may be caused by colon cancer, but this does not mean that these symptoms must be colon cancer. Because there are many diseases that have these symptoms, such as intestinal polyps, colon inflammation and other symptoms.
