Why do people get bone cancer

Bone cancer, including primary bone cancer, mainly refers to osteosarcoma, and some secondary bone cancers. The specific cause of bone cancer may not be very clear, and it is the result of a combination of factors. It may be related to local trauma, and then it may also be related to some gene mutations and environmental factors, such as radiation pollution, and the influence of some drugs may cause this type of bone cancer, but the specific cause is unclear. There are also some metastatic bone cancers, which are some primary tumor lesions that are prone to metastasis. This type also requires local radiotherapy, and regular use of bisphosphonates can inhibit bone cell destruction and treatment, etc.

Bone Cancer Symptoms

The most common bone cancer is osteosarcoma. The main symptom is the formation of a local mass, which can cause pain and limb movement disorders, and may even lead to complete inability to walk, which is quite serious. If bone cancer metastasizes to other parts of the body, there will be symptoms of the corresponding metastatic site. For example, bone cancer may metastasize to the liver, with symptoms of right upper abdominal pain, jaundice, and ascites. Bone cancer may also metastasize to the lungs, with symptoms of coughing, sputum, and hemoptysis. Bone cancer may also metastasize to the brain, with symptoms of increased intracranial pressure, such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, etc.

What to do in late stage of bone cancer

Late stage bone cancer is generally divided into late stage primary bone cancer, the most common is primary osteosarcoma, and others include late stage secondary bone cancer. If it is a malignant tumor that has metastasized to the bone from other places, it is already in the late stage. Bone cancer like osteosarcoma is generally not very effective in treatment, and it may not be able to be treated surgically in the late stage, and it has already metastasized to other places through the blood or lymphatic system. In this case, only palliative radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted drug therapy can be used to control the progression of the disease, or if the pain is severe, some analgesic drugs can be used.
