What kind of disease is skin cancer

Skin cancer can be relieved through surgical excision, radiotherapy and drug treatment. Its occurrence is closely related to long-term ultraviolet radiation, genetic factors and environmental factors. Skin cancer is a disease caused by malignant proliferation of skin cells, mainly including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. Long-term ultraviolet radiation is the main cause, especially those who are exposed to the sun for a long time or frequently use tanning equipment are more likely to get sick.

1. Genetic factors play an important role in the development of skin cancer. People with a family history of skin cancer have a higher risk of developing the disease. Gene mutations, such as the CDKN2A gene mutation, are directly associated with the occurrence of melanoma.

2. Long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays damages the DNA of skin cells, leading to abnormal cell proliferation. Outdoor workers or people who often sunbathe need to take sun protection measures, such as using sunscreen, wearing wide-brimmed hats and parasols.

3. Environmental pollutants such as chemicals and radiation can also increase the risk of skin cancer. People who are exposed to certain chemicals such as arsenic and coal tar should have regular skin examinations to detect lesions in time.

4. People with low immune function, such as those who use immunosuppressants after organ transplantation, have a higher incidence of skin cancer. Improving immunity and maintaining healthy living habits such as moderate exercise and a balanced diet can help reduce the risk.

Early detection of skin cancer is crucial, and regular skin examinations can detect abnormal lesions in time. Surgical excision is the preferred treatment, especially for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Radiotherapy is suitable for patients who cannot undergo surgery, and drug treatments such as targeted drugs and immunosuppressants have also shown good efficacy. The key to preventing skin cancer is to reduce ultraviolet exposure, use sunscreen products, avoid going out when the sun is strong, perform regular skin examinations, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and improve immunity.
