Knowledge on prevention of infectious diseases in spring

Spring has arrived, and with it come various infectious diseases. Infectious diseases are generally more serious diseases. If they really infect us, it will not only waste our financial resources, but also cause the patients to suffer great pain, and it is also very difficult to cure them completely. If everyone understands or masters some knowledge of preventing infectious diseases, they can stay away from diseases. Let’s learn some relevant knowledge about infectious diseases.

Infectious disease is the abbreviation of infectious disease. The pathogens of infectious diseases are diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms and parasites infecting humans. They are highly contagious and epidemic. Some infectious diseases can cause great casualties, such as cholera before liberation.

Characteristics of infectious diseases

1. It is contagious. Most infectious diseases are acquired through infection and can be spread to other people.

2. People are very afraid of infectious diseases, especially severe infectious diseases and some highly contagious diseases that can cause great harm to human life and health. Such as the emergence of AIDS in the early 1980s.

3. The onset is acute and the condition is severe. Some acute infectious diseases are fierce, such as the SARS outbreak in parts of my country in early 2003, influenza A (H1N1), and the current H7N9 avian influenza.

4. The consequences are serious. If an infectious disease is not treated early, the prognosis will be poor, and the person may become disabled, die, or have sequelae. For example, if meningococcal disease is not treated early, the mortality rate is very high. Mumps may be complicated by orchitis, which may affect male fertility. If a woman is infected with rubella virus during the first three months of pregnancy, it is easy to cause fetal malformation.

5. Seek early treatment. Early treatment is the key to curing infectious diseases and is directly related to the quality of recovery. For example, rabies: After being bitten by a dog, timely injection of rabies vaccine or anti-rabies serum can completely avoid the disease. If no measures are taken, once the disease occurs, the mortality rate is 100%.

For an infectious disease patient to infect others, the following three conditions must be met: a source of infection, a transmission route, and a susceptible population. If one of the three is missing, the infectious disease cannot be spread. Therefore, we must do a good job of prevention during the spring when infectious diseases are most prevalent. You can wear a mask when going out and wash your hands frequently with running water when you get home. Shoes need to be changed.
