Such diseases are very harmful to the human body and are more complicated to treat. Is cancer hereditary?

Many people are afraid of cancer. When treating such a disease, we must choose the correct treatment method, which will be of great help in stabilizing the disease. So, is cancer hereditary?

Is cancer hereditary?

Cancer is not a clear hereditary disease now, but there is increasing evidence that cancer does have a genetic tendency and has a certain relationship with genetics. There is now a lot of evidence that cancer is inherited. From the incidence of cancer within families to research at the cellular and molecular levels, all support the idea that cancer has a genetic tendency. This is because a cancer cell-specific genetic disorder is observed in almost all cancer cells, which, when analyzed at the cellular level, indicates that it can be inherited.

The material basis of heredity is genes. Among the genes in a normal human body, one type is called oncogenes and the other is called tumor suppressor genes. Proto-oncogenes are also called oncogenes. If they mutate, they can lead to genetic disorders and, under the influence of internal and external factors, turn normal cells into cancer cells. Tumor suppressor genes can inhibit or antagonize the functions and effects of oncogenes, or directly inhibit the growth of cancer cells, which is beneficial to the human body. If the tumor suppressor gene mutates, it can also lead to disordered cell growth and cancer. Oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes can be said to be in unity of opposites. If one of the oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes mutates, cancer may occur.

Through the above introduction, whether cancer is hereditary also depends on the condition of the disease. Some cancers are hereditary, but not 100% inherited. Therefore, people whose families have cancer should pay attention to protecting their own health. This will be of great help in preventing themselves from suffering from certain diseases.
