Four ways to cool down but can easily hurt your body

Four ways to cool down but can easily hurt your body

The temperature is high in summer, and people always try their best to cool down, but some ways of cooling down are not advisable.

1. Ice water instead of boiled water

In the "Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases" written by Zhang Zhongjing in the Han Dynasty, it is written that to treat heatstroke, the first step is to "first pour hot water to make you sweat", because hot water contains energy, which will open the pores to sweat and relieve the condition of heat being trapped in the body.

However, ice water has a "blocking" effect, which is not conducive to the circulation of qi and blood. Therefore, it is advisable to drink more warm boiled water in summer.

2. He loves to go shirtless on hot days

It is easy to catch a cold when you are shirtless and exposed to the wind. Your pores will shrink rapidly, which will trap moisture and heat in your body, making you more susceptible to heatstroke.

You should wear light, breathable clothing that wicks away sweat. If you feel hot, you can gently pat the inside of your wrists and other places where arteries pass to lower your blood temperature.

3. Take a cold shower after sweating

If you directly shower with cold water when your body is hot and sweating, the cold air will enter your body through the open pores. Some people may become sick and have a high fever, or their heart may not be able to bear it.

You should first wipe off the sweat on your body, massage your whole body to allow the pores to shrink slightly, then apply cold water on your body little by little until your body adapts to the water temperature before starting to take a shower.

4. Sleeping on the floor is cooler

There will be cold and damp air close to the ground, and it will be strongest in the early morning. However, this is when human body temperature is the lowest, so it is easy to catch a cold if you sleep on the floor.

If you have already suffered from heatstroke, you should not sleep on the ground, because the pores will contract due to the cold and sweat will not be discharged, which will make the symptoms of heatstroke more serious.
