There are many types of anorectal diseases, among which anal fistula is a common one. When patients have anal fistula, they will not only suffer from pain, but also endanger our health, making it impossible for people to work and live normally. Therefore, anal fistula requires timely surgical treatment. However, some patients experience anal itching after anal fistula surgery. Is this normal? Is it normal to have anal itching after anal fistula surgery? After anal fistula surgery, there will be some itching and discomfort during the recovery period, which is normal. Patients must know the dangers of anal fistula: (I) Promoting anemia The same principle applies to anal fistula bleeding and hemorrhoid bleeding. Short-term bleeding is not a big deal, but if the bleeding is too much or lasts too long, the iron in the body will continue to be lost, and over time, anemia will naturally follow. (ii) Pus contamination Once anal fistula is formed, purulent secretions will be discharged outward. If you engage in strenuous activities, the external discharge will be even worse. First, the underwear will be contaminated, and secondly, the skin will be infected. After friction and irritation, itching and pain will appear one after another. (III) Danger to adjacent organs Anal fistula is a common disease. Long-term delay can form rectovaginal fistula, rectourethral fistula and rectovesical fistula. In this case, endangering the surrounding organs is inevitable. In addition, if the disease is not cured for many years, the possibility of cancer will increase. (IV) Affecting the normal function of the anus Anal fistula, like enteritis, cannot be cured overnight. Even if it is cured, improper care can cause recurrence. As long as the disease recurs, pus can penetrate the fistula wall and spread along the sphincter gap, thus forming multiple and complex anal fistulas, which not only bring difficulties to treatment, but also seriously affect the normal physiological function of the anus. (V) Other complications of anal fistula Anal fissures, repeated attacks, inflammation, and irritation from secretions can lead to sentinel hemorrhoids and anal papilloma. However, many people's sentinel piles appear as skin tags and are soft in texture. Papillomas are often tumor-like masses with thin frenulum. The tumor often protrudes out of the anus and most of them are isolated. Occasionally, two papillomas exist at the same time. They are grayish white, painless, tough and smooth. Reminder to patients: Anal fistula is extremely harmful, so once anal fistula occurs, you should go to a professional anorectal hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time to avoid serious consequences. You should know that anal fistula cannot heal itself, so patients should not be lucky enough to get away with it. If they do not seek treatment, the condition will worsen and they will end up hurting themselves. |
