Shocking! Counting money can actually relieve pain

When it comes to pain, the first thing that comes to mind is to take painkillers, but medicine is poisonous . In addition to medicine, what other methods can relieve pain?

Kissing: It works as a painkiller

There is a substance in saliva that has analgesic properties. This substance, which occurs naturally in the human body, works in a similar way to narcotic painkillers such as morphine, but is six times more effective at relieving pain. Researchers have found that this substance can mobilize the body's own defense system to fight pain. Kissing can relieve pain. A passionate kiss can produce a dose of hormones equivalent to that of a painkiller. Kissing can also produce antibiotics. When kissing, natural antibiotics are secreted in human saliva, and they also have anesthetic effects.

Counting money: can relieve pain

“Money is sweet, very hot and poisonous. It can keep your face young, moisturize your body, cure hunger and relieve hardship.” More than a thousand years ago in the Tang Dynasty, Zhang Shuo, a famous official of the dynasty, wrote a unique article “Money Materia Medica”, which vividly described the warning remedy of using money as medicine.

Psychologists have studied the relationship between monetary stimulation and pain, and once again explained to the world the pharmacological effect of money - the analgesic effect that having money brings to people is not only a feeling, but also a reality.

Three methods were used in the experiment:

Money counting method

One group counted 80 100-yuan notes, and the other group counted 80 pieces of paper of the same size.

Sentence Construction

The shuffled sentences were then reordered so that one group of subjects' sentences contained words with monetary meanings, while the other group did not.

Accounting method

One group of participants wrote about their recent expenses, while another group only wrote about recent weather conditions.

The subjects were asked to put their hands first in 43℃ warm water and then in 50℃ hot water. After a certain period of time, they reported their pain through a questionnaire. The purpose of the questionnaire is to quantify the subjective feeling of pain.

In the pain report, the pain of the money counting group was significantly less than that of the paper counting group; after being rejected by the virtual person, the account counting group felt more intense pain than the weather group. These experimental results suggest that money can relieve pain and that having or having access to money can increase resistance to pain.
