1. Shrugging the painful muscles along the skull can relax the neck muscles and calm the nervous system.

To do this: Stand or sit, relax your body, then inhale and stretch your shoulders. Try to bring your shoulders closer to your ears, hold for two seconds, exhale and relax, and repeat three times.

2. Relax yourself with rhythmic breathing.

When we feel stressed, carbon dioxide levels in our bodies rise. At this time, shallow breathing can dilate the blood vessels in the head and relieve pain.

The method is: count to 5 when breathing in through the nose, count to 5 again when breathing out through the mouth, and repeat 10 times.

3. Use hot water bottle or ice pack

Placing a hot water bottle or ice pack on the forehead or any painful area can provide relief; using cold or hot compresses is a person's preferred treatment method. However, if you choose to apply cold compress, you should first wrap the ice pack in a towel and then place it on the painful area.

4. Press acupuncture points

Don't use this method at the beginning of a headache.

To do this: Place your index and middle fingers on the outside of your eyebrows and at your temples. Press in a circular motion with slight force for 10 seconds, then rest for 2 seconds, relax, and repeat.

5. Walk back and forth

A brisk walk can relieve you from everyday stress, which is the key to preventing, relieving and treating headaches.

6. Tea therapy

A cup of Tianning tea in the morning and evening can effectively relieve headaches.
