Self-emotional control methods

Self-emotional control methods

None of us can live without emotions and feelings. Emotions are an interaction of subjective feelings, physiological reactions, and cognition. In our daily lives, we will inevitably encounter times when we cannot control our emotions, and often the loss of control at those times leads to the results we least want to see. So it is very important to manage our emotions. Emotions are like our barometer. When we are in a bad mood, a gloomy expression will appear on our face, which will create an uncomfortable feeling for the people we are communicating with. So how do we control our emotions?

1. There are many ways to vent. You can directly express your dissatisfaction or talk to your friends. Venting maintains a person's psychological balance and reduces one's inner pressure. The more tense and intense the emotions are, the greater the need for venting. Each of us needs to relieve our agitated emotions from time to time and achieve emotional balance.

2. Diversion: To eliminate negative and harmful emotions, we often use the method of diversion. When we are emotionally excited, diversion can give us time to think and analyze ourselves calmly, and transfer our emotions to things that interest us, such as singing, exercising, playing chess and other meaningful activities. These can help eliminate negative emotions as quickly as possible, offsetting and diluting the original emotions.

3 The emotional impulses of people often contain powerful vitality. Many creative activities are accompanied by enthusiasm and persistence. People’s painful emotions can also be transformed into the power of learning and life. If we can correctly and actively transform our emotional activities into learning, it is entirely possible to create a learning miracle.

4. Restraint Sometimes people need to control their emotions temporarily, use willpower to curb emotional impulses and avoid adverse consequences.

For example, we can use self-suggestion methods to remind ourselves to "take a deep breath", "don't be nervous", "stay calm", etc., so that reason can overcome impulse.

5. Humor: Humor is a special emotional expression and also a tool for people to adapt to the environment. Having a sense of humor can help people maintain a positive and optimistic attitude towards life. Many seemingly troublesome things can be dealt with in a humorous way, which can often make people's unpleasant emotions disappear and make them feel relaxed immediately.

6. Attention diversion method: When anger rises, consciously shift your attention from negative emotions to meaningful aspects, which can relieve your emotions. It is best to devote yourself to study and work, and use the achievements you have made to dilute the depression and worries. Or participating in cultural and sports activities can also help divert unpleasant emotions and give you some spiritual sustenance.

7. Environmental adjustment method: When you encounter negative emotions, leave your environment and go to nature. The beautiful mountains and waters of nature can often shock people's hearts. When you climb a high mountain, you will feel your mind open up. Looking out to sea, you’ll feel a sense of detachment. When you walk into the forest, you will feel everything is so fresh. These wonderful feelings are often inducers of good emotions. Nature can make people open-minded, happy both physically and mentally, and has a good effect on regulating psychological activities.

I think everyone now has a clear idea of how to control your emotions! Emotions have a huge impact on our physical health. Positive emotions can make our thinking more clear and benefit our physical and mental health; negative emotions are very harmful to our health. People who are often angry and hostile may have a high chance of suffering from heart disease, so learning to control emotions is a matter of life and death.
