Nerves control various tissues in our body and also control our movements. There are many nerves in the human body, and each nerve has its function. If there is a problem with one of the nerves, then there is something wrong with the person. Liver neurofibroma is also a relatively common phenomenon. So what is liver neurofibroma? Let us give you some basic knowledge! 1. Solid nodules are single or multiple solid nodules in the dermis or subcutaneous tissue, which are round or oval in shape, usually not exceeding 2 to 4 cm in diameter, and can be moved (Figure 1). It may be soft or firm, pink or yellowish in color, and may or may not be painful. Occasionally, lesions are multiple and may occur in the setting of NF1 or occur independently of NF1. However, multiple lesions are often associated with neurofibromatosis type II. The isolated type may be congenital or delayed. It can be sporadic or familial. Clinically, there are three appearances: elevated dome-shaped nodules, light brown indurated macules, and multiple papules fused into plaques of 2 to 100 mm. Plexiform schwannomas may be solitary or multiple lesions, localized or generalized, and may arise in the dermis or subcutaneous tissue. It may occur alone or in combination with neurofibromatosis type I, type II, or multiple schwannomas. Another subtype of schwannoma is the psammomatous type with macular pigmentation of Carney syndrome, myxoma and endocrine hyperactivity. A malignant subtype may occur as a solitary lesion associated with neurofibromatosis type I. Or in some cases, it may occur with xeroderma pigmentosum. 2. There are usually no subjective symptoms of soreness and numbness, but there is a soreness and numbness feeling when touched. Increased size is often accompanied by radiating pain. 3. Sensory and motor disorders may occur when the tumor significantly compresses the nerves. The diagnosis can be made based on clinical manifestations, characteristics of skin lesions, and characteristic immunohistochemistry of tissue pathology. This disease is difficult to diagnose clinically and a biopsy is required for confirmation. If the patient's condition is serious, then he must go to the hospital for treatment in time. If he cannot receive treatment in time, it will have a great impact on our liver's detoxification ability, and it will easily cause obstacles to our movement and compress the nerves, which is quite harmful. |
