What causes frequent urination, urgency and lower abdominal discomfort?

Every normal person urinates about four to eight times a day. If the number of times you go to the toilet is significantly higher than this, it is frequent urination. Frequent urination is one of the symptoms of many diseases, and there are many reasons for frequent urination. Urinary urgency means that you cannot control your urination or you feel a sense of urgency when urinating. You cannot wait and must urinate immediately, otherwise you will wet your pants. So, what is the cause of frequent urination, urgency and lower abdominal discomfort?

Abdominal pain may be caused by gastrointestinal diseases such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, gynecological diseases, or problems with the urinary and reproductive organs.

Mild abdominal pain is mostly caused by minor gastrointestinal problems such as indigestion.

If it is a male, it is mostly prostatitis. Take prostate contraceptive orally. If it is acute inflammation, it must be treated with infusion.

For acute urinary tract infection, do not delay and go to the hospital immediately to receive antibiotic treatment according to the course of treatment. If there is a trustworthy Chinese medicine practitioner around you, taking Chinese medicine is also fine. You should continue to take the medicine after the urgency symptoms disappear, because the absence of symptoms does not mean there is no bacterial infection. If the initial onset is not treated thoroughly, it will often recur in the future, which is very difficult to deal with.

Urinary tract infection can be divided into upper urinary tract infection and lower urinary tract infection according to the site of infection; according to the relationship between the two infections, it can be divided into isolated or sporadic infection and recurrent infection, the latter of which can be divided into reinfection and bacterial persistence, which is also called recurrence; according to the state of the urinary tract at the time of infection, it can be divided into simple urinary tract infection, complicated urinary tract infection and urosepsis. Urinary tract infections are common in women, especially those who are sexually active and postmenopausal women. Common urination abnormalities caused by urinary tract infection are frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. Urinary incontinence and urinary retention may also occur. In the early stage of chronic renal failure caused by chronic pyelonephritis, there may be polyuria, and in the later stage, there may be oliguria or anuria.

Experts point out that urinary tract infection in the early stages is easily ignored by patients due to adverse effects on symptoms, cognition and testing, leading to delayed treatment.

First, the lack of obviousness of the symptoms leads to neglect. Among urinary tract infections, urethritis has the highest incidence. Bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites are all among the pathogens that cause urethritis, and the most typical one is urethritis caused by gonococci. Compared with urethritis caused by gonococci, the symptoms of "non-gonococcal" are not obvious. There are rarely symptoms of frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. Even if there are symptoms, they are very mild and easy to be ignored.
