The results showed that 42% of the men had elevated insulin levels. Men with hyperinsulinemia are significantly heavier, have wider waist circumferences, and have lower HDL cholesterol. Being overweight is one of the biggest risk factors for diabetes, and people at risk of diabetes often have low HDL cholesterol. Studies show that eating high-fiber cereal can significantly lower blood sugar levels than eating low-fiber cereal.

Additionally, hyperinsulinemic men who ate the high-fiber cereal had significantly reduced insulin production. Women who eat cereal for breakfast are more likely to be thinner than those who choose other breakfast foods or skip breakfast altogether, a new study shows.

Oatmeal that you cook at home tastes better than oatmeal that is directly mixed in. Drinking homemade oatmeal will make you feel full and is more suitable for diabetics. At the same time, there is nothing else added, like sugar or something. Ready-to-drink beverages are indeed very convenient, but the value of oats will be reduced, leaving very few benefits of oats.
