What to do if your eyes are injured, do you know the 4 methods?

The eye is a relatively fragile organ and can be injured if you are not careful. At this time, you must be careful not to try to remove foreign objects embedded in the eye and do not rub your eyes. You can rinse with plenty of water and cover the affected eye.

1. Do not try to remove a foreign body embedded in the eye.

If the foreign object is large, such as a pen, you should cut a hole in a paper cup and place it over the eye to hold the foreign object and stabilize the cup. Cover the other eye with a cloth to prevent movement of the affected eye. If the foreign body is small, cover both eyes with a cloth and secure it loosely.

If there is no stinging pain, but just a foreign body sensation, you can bear it and close your eyes. The foreign body may flow out with the tears. If you don't want to cry, you can put water in a basin, bury your face in it and blink. If you can see foreign matter in your eye, you can use a wet cotton swab or cotton wool to remove it.

2. Rinse with plenty of water

No matter what method you use to rinse, be sure to close your eyes that are not exposed to detergent or cover them with your hands. If strong acid or alkali gets into your eyes by mistake, you must go to the hospital for treatment after rinsing. If you can't find clean water around you, you can use river water, lake water, etc. to wash.

3. Cover the affected eye

After rinsing, cover the affected eye with a clean cotton cloth and bandage both eyes to reduce the movement of the affected eye. If possible, identify the chemical that burned the eye, or at least tell the doctor whether the chemical is wet or dry.

4. Do not rub your eyes after a foreign object enters your eyes

Otherwise the cornea or conjunctiva may be damaged. If a child feels there is a foreign object in his eye, he will rub his eyes immediately. Parents should pay attention to this. Infections caused by foreign body injuries are more dangerous. If there is still a foreign body sensation in the eye after the foreign body is removed, it may be that the eye is damaged and you must see a doctor.
