Symptoms of brain tumor in the latent period

Because brain tumors have a certain incubation period, many patients are not able to discover them in time. When they are discovered, the condition is already very serious. We need to understand the symptoms and signs that brain tumors may show during the incubation period, such as whether there are long-term headaches, projectile vomiting, and decreased vision.

Symptom 1: Morning headache

Headaches are often worst when you wake up from a night's sleep and will gradually ease after you get up. Most headaches can be relieved in the afternoon.

Symptom 2: Projectile vomiting

It usually occurs when the headache is severe, and the headache can be relieved after vomiting.

Sign 3: decreased vision, double vision

In the early stage, there may be temporary blackout and short-term vision loss. As the disease worsens, it gradually turns into persistent vision loss and may eventually lead to complete blindness. Diplopia: The images of the two eyes cannot overlap, and any object appears double. Initially, diplopia only occurs when the eyes are looking in a certain direction. Later, it can develop to occur in any direction. Finally, when the positions of the eyes on both sides are significantly asymmetrical, the diplopia can be reduced or even disappear.

Symptom 4: Visual field loss

It usually presents with bitemporal hemianopsia, which can hinder the patient's behavior in severe cases.

Symptom 5: Bulging of one eye

That is, one eyeball protrudes forward, and in severe cases it may affect the eyelid, causing palpebral fissure and incomplete eyelid closure. 50% of cases of unilateral exophthalmos are caused by intracranial diseases, the most common cause of which is brain tumor.

Symptom 6: Unilateral deafness

If a middle-aged person has no history of otitis media or trauma, but has progressive hearing loss on only one side, with or without tinnitus on the same side, it is mostly caused by a tumor compressing the auditory nerve.

Symptom 7: Epileptic seizure

For patients who begin to develop the disease after adulthood, if there is no trauma or other triggering factors, intracranial tumors should be considered first. If seizures are limited to one side or begin in a certain limb, a brain tumor should be considered in both adults and children.
