Collapse is a sudden symptom that is often caused by excessive exercise, panic, fatigue, excessive blood loss, etc. Once this happens, people will faint and become unconscious in serious cases, while those with milder conditions will still be somewhat conscious and can find ways to adjust and relieve the symptoms. Therefore, we should pay more attention to our bodies in our daily lives. Today I will share with you some symptoms and causes of collapse.

Symptoms of collapse

Some patients suddenly experience nausea, dizziness, pale complexion, shallow breathing, cold sweats all over the body, muscle relaxation, general weakness, and often suddenly collapse to the ground. Some are accompanied by unconsciousness. These are the manifestations of collapse.

Feeling dizzy from sweating too much while taking a shower is also a sign of exhaustion.

When there is a lot of vomiting and diarrhea, blood loss and certain unfortunate factors of strong or weak stimulation, it will cause acute dysfunction of the heart and blood vessels and cause temporary collapse.

Causes of collapse

Collapse may result from excessive sweating or inadequate fluid replacement. It is often seen in people who are not acclimatized to the climate and are not used to activities. At this time, the body is losing salt and water, and the symptoms vary depending on the proportion of the loss.

If both are lost slowly, the patient will experience increasing malaise, headache, mild dizziness and fatigue.

If the main loss is water, mild collapse will cause thirst, and as the degree of collapse increases, consciousness will become blurred, and there will still be sweating and a slight fever. If the patient is unconscious, recovery can be rapid with oral rehydration and removal to a cool location.

Those who are mainly salt deficient rarely feel thirsty, and although they may become more drowsy, vomit, and have muscle cramps, they still remain rational. In this case, saline should be given from the beginning. One teaspoon of salt plus 500 ml of water is more appropriate. Severe collapse can be prevented by acclimatization, adequate fluid intake, and the addition of salt to meals.
