Uremia is a very serious kidney disease. Patients with uremia will be very depressed and will have symptoms such as loss of appetite, emotional indifference, and lower limb edema. The main cause of uremia is kidney disease, and uremia caused by renal failure is very common. 1. Common symptoms Acute hemolytic uremic syndrome Lethargy Diffuse bilateral renal lesions Nail-bone tetrad Loss of appetite Lower extremity edema Sensory disturbance Urine-smelling breath Restless legs syndrome Hyperosmotic urine Common symptoms of uremia include loss of appetite, dullness of senses, emotional indifference, drowsiness, decreased urine volume, facial and lower limb edema, anemia, itchy skin, muscle cramps, sometimes restlessness, and even epilepsy. Symptoms of uremia can occur slowly and remain hidden for a long time without being discovered. Acute renal failure can occur within a few days with obvious symptoms of uremia. Uremic syndrome can be diverse, and not all symptoms are necessarily manifested. 2. Causes of uremia Kidney disease (35%): Kidney disease is the main cause of uremia, and the final outcome of all chronic kidney diseases will be uremia. Among these, chronic nephritis is the primary cause. Among the diseases that cause uremia, chronic glomerulonephritis accounts for 55.7%. The cause of uremia is the loss of renal function. The nitrogen waste produced by metabolism in the body cannot be excreted, and accumulates in the body, causing water and electricity imbalance, water retention, and electrolyte imbalance. The common cause of renal failure is disease and damage to the kidneys themselves, called renal renal failure. Prerenal renal failure is often caused by heart failure or other reasons that cause a drop in blood pressure and insufficient renal perfusion. The main cause of postrenal renal failure is urinary tract obstruction and urine reflux. Hypertension (15%): 15% of hypertensive patients will directly develop uremia. According to statistics in 1998 in my country, patients with hypertension accounted for 10% of the total population, that is, one in every 10 people is a hypertensive patient, and 1.5 of them will become uremia patients. Diabetes (10%): 30% of diabetic patients will directly develop uremic diabetes. Recent statistics show that among the Chinese population, there are 43.2 million people with diabetes and 50.64 million people with impaired glucose tolerance, with the total number of the two being 93.84 million. That is to say, because of diabetes alone, there are about 13 million patients with uremia and more than 15 million people at high risk of uremia in my country. Urinary tract infection (UTI) (10%): It is caused by a urinary tract infection or UTI. According to statistics, the incidence of urinary incontinence in my country is 0.23% for males and 2.37% for females. The disease can occur in both men and women, young and old, and is especially common in married women of childbearing age. In my country, chronic pyelonephritis is the second leading cause of uremia, accounting for 21.2%. Different degrees of toxic side effects of drugs (10%): Caused by different degrees of toxic side effects of drugs. Studies have shown that approximately 25% of renal failure patients are associated with drug nephrotoxicity. |
