How do you get conjunctivitis? How to care?

Conjunctivitis is one of the common eye diseases. The occurrence of conjunctivitis can cause pain and discomfort in the patient's eyes, affecting normal life and reducing learning and work efficiency. Therefore, in daily life, we should have a certain understanding of the causes of conjunctivitis in order to stay away from the troubles of the disease as much as possible. If we accidentally get the disease, we should pay attention to active treatment and correct care.

1. Exogenous. Including various microorganisms, plants, pollen, dust, physical and chemical poisons in the environment.

2. Endogenous. Pathogenic bacteria infect the conjunctiva through the blood or lymph, or cause an allergic reaction to an infection in other parts of the body. When these factors act on the conjunctival tissue, it causes conjunctival congestion, bleeding and exudation, papillary hypertrophy and follicle formation, resulting in various eye discomforts, which is clinical conjunctivitis.

Care methods

1. Avoid rubbing your eyes with your hands. When conjunctivitis causes itching and pain, avoid rubbing your eyes with your hands. Rubbing your eyes can easily bring bacteria or viruses from your hands into your eyes, aggravating the infection, and it is also easy to transfer bacteria from your eyes to your hands and infect others.

2. Avoid infecting others. It is best not to go out when you have infectious conjunctivitis, and it is best to disinfect objects you have touched to prevent infection to others.

3. Rinse eyes. When there is a lot of eye secretion, you can use saline to rinse, but this must be done under the guidance of a doctor. Wipe the eyelid margin clean with a sterilized cotton swab before rinsing, and wipe off the secretions before applying eye drops each time to improve the efficacy.

4. Do not cover the affected eye. When suffering from conjunctivitis, there will be irritation symptoms such as photophobia and tearing. You can wear sunshade glasses when going out to reduce irritation, but you should avoid covering the affected eye. Because covering it will prevent secretions from being discharged, and at the same time increase the local temperature and humidity of the conjunctival sac, it is conducive to the reproduction of bacteria or viruses and aggravates the condition.
