Why do adults still grow teeth

Why do adults still grow teeth

Normal people will experience two tooth growth processes in their lifetime. The first is the deciduous teeth that grow when humans are still in infancy. When humans grow to childhood, their deciduous teeth will gradually fall out, and they will experience the second tooth growth process. The second tooth growth process usually stops completely at the age of 12, but some people find that they have grown new teeth in their mouths even though they are already adults. Why?

Why am I still growing teeth at 18?

1. This is a physiological reason. It will grow because there is a tooth germ. As long as there is enough space, it will grow out. Generally, you can take an X-ray at the age of 5 to observe whether there is a wisdom tooth germ, and you will know whether you will grow wisdom teeth.

Of course not everyone has wisdom teeth.

2. If the growth is normal, there is no obvious pain, and there is no pericoronitis of wisdom teeth, no special treatment is required, just observe.

3. It is recommended to avoid stimulation with your hands during the growth of wisdom teeth to avoid infection. Some wisdom teeth may become impacted during the growth process and need to be extracted surgically.

Is it necessary to extract wisdom teeth?

1. Because wisdom teeth are located at the back of the mouth and are difficult to clean, residual food debris can easily be used by bacteria to harm the human body.

2. Chronic infection caused by bacteria can cause gum inflammation, bleeding, tooth decay and toothache. Finally, due to periodontal disease, the teeth become loose or the pulp becomes necrotic, causing other healthy teeth around them to suffer varying degrees of damage or even require tooth extraction. Therefore, extraction of this tooth is necessary.

3. However, if the wisdom tooth does not affect your normal life and does not hurt, there is no need to remove it.

There is no need to worry about the issue of teeth growing at the age of 18. This is a normal situation. However, some people will grow teeth, while others will not. It depends on the individual's development. If wisdom teeth do not affect your normal life, you don't need to worry about them. But once it affects your normal life, you can pull it out.
