How to regulate manic-depressive psychosis

Manic-depressive psychosis is a relatively serious mental illness. Patients with these mental illnesses will be greatly affected in their work and life. If they want to adjust effectively, they should pay attention to avoiding mental stimulation and develop good eating and living habits.

1. Enjoy your mood. Keep your mind calm, your mood happy, get rid of selfish desires and distractions, and avoid mental stimulation. An optimistic mood, a cheerful personality, and noble self-cultivation are the primary conditions for preventing this disease. Just as Pavlov said: "Happiness can make you feel every beat of life and every impression of life easily, whether it is physical or mental happiness, which can make the body develop and strengthen the body." "All stubborn and heavy depression and anxiety are enough to open the door to various diseases."

2. Have a regular daily routine. Combine work and rest, avoid tension and fatigue, develop the habit of growing flowers, collecting stamps, calligraphy and painting, and playing the piano, keep a regular schedule, and prevent colds and infectious diseases.

3. Eat in moderation. Quit smoking and drinking, be cautious about spicy and dry foods, eat more light vegetarian food, keep your bowels open, and do not eat spoiled, tasteless, or foul-smelling food or sick or dead livestock.  

4. Drink jujube tea regularly.

0.5 kg of black tea, 0.3 kg of Chinese jujube kernels, and 0.1 kg of alum are ground into fine powder. Make them into bean-sized pills with glutinous rice drink. Take 40 pills before the onset of the disease, washing them down with tea. Or use the above medicines to make honey pills as big as sycamore seeds, take 30 pills each time, twice a day.

5. Practice relaxation exercises diligently.

Songgong, also known as relaxation exercise, is a mind-body exercise method that relaxes muscles and nerves through subjective intention. Specific exercises: (1) Stand, sit, lean or lie on your back; (2) Relax the whole body by natural relaxation, partial relaxation or three-line relaxation; (3) Use natural breathing or normal abdominal breathing to gradually adjust the breath to be even, fine and long, focus on Dantian, silently recite "Huh" and use your mind to create a relaxed and harmonious scene. This exercise should be performed three times a day, once in the morning, noon and evening, each time lasting about 30 to 60 minutes. When practicing, you should choose a quiet place with fresh air and no external interference to avoid sudden external stimulation. After finishing the exercise, you can walk slowly for 400 to 1000 steps.
