Coughing is a protective reaction of our body. Appropriate coughing can effectively expel secretions from our respiratory tract. However, severe coughing that causes sore throat requires timely treatment. You can try yoga therapy, scraping or foot massage. 1. Yoga therapy can help strengthen the respiratory system and relieve cough symptoms through yoga exercises. People who always cough may wish to persist in practicing to relieve the cough. Here is an introduction to the Lion Pose in yoga: 1. Sit on your knees, straighten your back, and tighten your chin. 2. Breathe in through your nose, lean forward, hold your chest and abdomen in, arch your back, place the base of your palms lightly on your knees, spread your fingers out to touch the ground, and open your mouth wide. 3. Exhale, try to stick out the tip of your tongue, breathe through your mouth with the root of your tongue as the center, maintain the action for 30 seconds, and retract your tongue to restore the action. This set of movements can help fully exercise the head muscles, promote blood circulation deep in the throat to help treat coughs. 2. Scraping therapy: If the long-term cough is caused by upper respiratory tract inflammation due to wind-cold or wind-heat invading the lungs, you can reduce the severity and improve the cough symptoms by scraping the holographic acupoints on the neck and chest. Acupoints to be located: Lianquan point, located in the depression above the Adam's apple and the upper edge of the hyoid bone; Tiantu point, located in the center of the suprasternal fossa; the throat and organ area in the front of the neck and the lung area in the front of the chest. Technique: Use the scraping board to scrape the center of the throat projection on the front of the neck, then slowly scrape downward from the Lianquan point, and then use the scraping board surface to scrape the front two sides of the neck; use the corner of the scraping board to scrape the Tiantu point and the projection area of the trachea in the middle of the chest, and finally scrape the lung area of the chest from the inside to the outside. 3. Foot therapy: If you have a long-term cough, you can choose to use Chinese medicine foot therapy to help promote lung qi and relieve the discomfort caused by long-term cough. Recipe: 90 grams of Houttuynia cordata, 30 grams each of ephedra and asarum. Usage: Add Houttuynia cordata, Ephedra sinica and Asarum to clean water and boil for 10 minutes. Then pour the liquid into a foot basin and soak your feet. 4. Essential oil therapy: Use essential oil aromatherapy to help patients with long-term cough and large amounts of sputum relieve symptoms by inhaling aromatic vapor. In addition, you can also use essential oils to massage your chest, back, etc. to help reduce inflammation and relieve cough discomfort. Recipe: 2 drops of lavender essential oil, 2 drops of sandalwood essential oil. Usage: Drop the essential oil on a face towel or handkerchief and smell it. Alternatively, you can mix sandalwood essential oil with eucalyptus essential oil and jojoba oil and then massage your chest and back. |
