What is the process of atherosclerosis

What is the process of atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis is a common cardiovascular disease in clinical practice. Atherosclerosis does not begin to harden at the beginning, but also has a formation process. The process of atherosclerosis is relatively complex, and many factors may lead to atherosclerosis.

1. The process or mechanism of atherosclerosis is relatively complex. For example, high cholesterol and fat content in the arteries can slowly form blood clots, leading to insufficient blood supply and ultimately increasing arterial blood viscosity, leading to atherosclerosis. Patients with this disease often have high blood sugar, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

2. High blood pressure has an important impact on the formation of atherosclerosis, because higher blood pressure causes the patient's arterial wall to be under too much pressure for a long time, the arterial wall structure and cell layer are damaged, and low-density lipoprotein can easily enter the arterial wall, causing the smooth muscle of the arterial wall to continue to proliferate, leading to atherosclerosis.

3. High blood lipids are closely related to the occurrence of this disease. After animal experiments, scientists finally found that animals with high blood lipids are prone to atherosclerosis, and the continuous increase in low-density protein and very low-density protein is closely related to the disease. Another factor is smoking. Long-term smoking reduces the ability of the arterial wall to bind oxygen, and the fatty acid content in the arterial lining continues to increase. Over time, the arterial wall continues to thicken, eventually leading to atherosclerosis. It should also be noted that nicotine in tobacco can act on the coronary arteries, causing arterial spasm, damage to myocardial cells, slowing blood flow in the arteries, and making it easy for tiny blood clots and fat particles to deposit in the arterial walls, ultimately leading to this disease.
