What are the causes of long-term runny nose

Runny nose is a common clinical symptom, but frequent runny nose should be taken seriously. There are many reasons for long-term runny nose. In addition to runny nose caused by colds, the most important reason is rhinitis. A runny nose may also be related to some external factors.

① Cold air stimulation: The baby's secretion is relatively vigorous. If it is just a runny nose without other uncomfortable symptoms, it is most likely caused by the cold air stimulating the nasal cavity. Parents do not need to worry too much. However, if it is a unilateral runny nose and it is bloody, there may be foreign objects in the nasal cavity.

② Cold: In the early stages of a baby's cold, the mucus in the nose is mostly watery or mucous. The amount can be more or less, but it will continue to flow.

③ Allergic rhinitis: If a baby suffers from allergic rhinitis, he will usually have clear nasal mucus in large amounts, and he will sneeze frequently and have an itchy nose. This is mostly seasonal, especially severe in winter, and most babies with allergic rhinitis will also suffer from asthma.

④ Sinusitis: If the baby has yellow watery discharge from his nose, parents should take the baby to the hospital for a sinus X-ray or CT scan in time to rule out the possibility of sinus cysts.

⑤ Runny nose is a normal reaction. You cannot use medicine in general, and you cannot use western medicine for suppressing colds casually. These medicines only suppress the body's runny nose function and cannot eliminate the problem over time. Cold air will accumulate in the baby's body, causing the baby to continue to get sick and his physical condition to deteriorate. Only by drinking more boiled water, eliminating the cold, and providing reasonable care can the baby recover his health.
