What to do with a mild anal fissure and how to treat it

The symptoms of anal fissure can be divided into different stages. If the anal fissure is relatively mild, it can actually be treated by itself, and the treatment method is relatively simple. First, you can use diet therapy and try to eat some light and easily digestible food. Then use some anti-inflammatory drugs to apply to the affected area.

1. First, adjust your diet. Increase the dietary fiber content, eat more coarse grain products, vegetables, etc., eat less spicy food, drink more water, eat more fruits, improve the symptoms of dry and hard stools, and thus keep the bowels smooth. In addition, you should develop good bowel habits, strictly defecate on time, exercise more moderately, do abdominal massage before getting up, and do more exercises on a regular basis, such as Tai Chi, health exercises, etc., which can accelerate intestinal peristalsis and help defecation.

2. Blockade therapy. Suitable for mild anal fissures, use long-acting anesthetics for local injection of the anal fissure, inject the drug into the base of the anal fissure and the surrounding tissues, and gently massage with fingers.

3. Treatment with traditional Chinese medicine. The medication should be differentiated and treated according to the patient's clinical symptoms. When heat accumulates in the intestines, the treatment is to clear away heat, promote bowel movements, nourish yin and cool blood. For those with damp-heat in the lower body, the treatment principle is to clear away heat and remove dampness. For those with Yin deficiency and dry intestines, the treatment principle is to nourish Yin, produce body fluids, moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements. For those with blood deficiency and dry intestines, the treatment principle is to replenish blood and nourish yin, and moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements.

4. External treatment. Apply medication to the anal trauma site. Apply anti-inflammatory and analgesic ointment directly to the fissure to relieve pain and sphincter spasm. Pain-relieving suppositories can also be used.

5. Sitz bath fumigation. Taking a sitz bath with warm water can improve local blood circulation, relax the anal sphincter, reduce the impact of feces on anal fissures, and relieve pain. Potassium permanganate solution and Chinese herbal medicine can also be used for fumigation.
