What causes weakness and trembling in the limbs?

If the limbs are weak and trembling, we need to analyze whether it is a physiological or pathological reason. The physiological reason may be excessive stress in daily life, lack of rest and fatigue, while the pathological reason may be caused by dysfunction of the nervous system.

(1) Physiological: Some tremors do not occur normally, but only occur in certain situations (such as stress, tension, anger). The common saying "trembling with anger" refers to this situation. Other side effects such as certain medications and even beverages such as coffee, tea, and cola are all physiological tremors.

(2) Psychological: The tremor is usually of a strange type and treatment is mainly targeted at the mental illness.

(3) Primary (benign essential tremor): This means that we cannot find out the exact cause of the tremor, but it may be caused by a special "physical constitution". Because about half of the patients with this disease have a family history of tremors, it is also called hereditary tremor disorder or familial tremor disorder; although genetic factors play a very important role, its exact mode of inheritance is still unclear. Pathological autopsy often cannot find any lesions in the brain of patients with essential tremor syndrome, but the current hypothesis still points to the possible location of the lesions in the tremor regulators in the brain (olivolum, cerebellum and thalamus).

(4) Pathological: refers to diseases caused by dysfunction of the nervous system, such as Parkinson's disease, lesions of the midbrain, cerebellum, and basal ganglia, metabolic abnormalities (such as hypoglycemia or hyperthyroidism), etc.

Generally speaking, you can ignore physiological problems and just avoid their inducing factors. But others require causal and symptomatic treatment, and the specific treatment plan can only be determined after clear examination.
