What are the reasons for poor blood circulation in the body

Poor blood circulation in the body is very common, which has a lot to do with people's living habits and may also be a disease factor. There are many reasons for poor blood circulation in the body. Many diabetic patients may experience poor blood circulation, which can be treated in a targeted manner.

1. Blood Clots

A blood clot can partially or completely block blood flow. They can develop almost anywhere in your body, but having a blood clot develop in your arms or legs can cause circulation problems.

If a blood clot breaks free in your leg, it can travel to other parts of your body, including your heart and lungs. When this happens, the results can be serious, even fatal. A blood clot can often be successfully treated if caught before it causes bigger problems.

2. Varicose veins

Varicose veins are enlarged veins due to impairment of the normal function of the venous valves. The veins appear rough and covered with skin, often in the calves. Damaged veins cannot carry blood effectively to other veins, so poor circulation can become a problem. Although rare, varicose veins can also lead to blood clots.

3. Diabetes

You might think that diabetes only affects your blood sugar, but it can cause problems in many different areas of the body. Poor circulation caused by diabetes can cause leg cramps, as well as pain and spasm in the calves, thighs, or buttocks. This cramping can be especially bad when you're physically active. It may be difficult for people with advanced diabetes to detect signs of poor circulation because diabetes causes neuropathy, which reduces feeling in your limbs.

Diabetes can cause heart and blood vessel problems, and people with diabetes have an increased risk of atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

4. Obesity

Excess weight puts a strain on your body. Also, if you are overweight, sitting or standing for hours may cause circulation problems. Being overweight or obese also puts you at increased risk for many other causes of poor circulation, including varicose veins and blood vessel problems.
