Symptoms of pharyngitis, acute and chronic should be distinguished

Pharyngitis can be acute or chronic, and this disease is very common in life. Acute pharyngitis can cause sore throat, cough and dry throat, while chronic pharyngitis can cause discomfort in the throat, hoarseness, and in severe cases, complete loss of voice.

1. Pain

The pain of pharyngitis will occur during the acute phase of inflammation of the throat, during which time the throat will be painful.

2. Cough

We should pay attention when we cough. If it doesn’t go away for a while or it recurs repeatedly, it may be pharyngitis and we should seek medical attention in time.

In the later stages of acute throat inflammation, most of the time it occurs after influenza. Because of the prolonged inflammation, there will be a local itchy feeling, leaving behind coughing symptoms. If effective treatment is not continued at this time, the cough will persist.

3. Foreign body sensation

Because of the long-term existence of inflammation, the throat tissue proliferates, especially the lymph nodes at the root of the tongue are swollen, which is clinically called: lingual tonsillitis. The swollen lingual tonsils can irritate the epiglottis and produce a foreign body sensation.

4. Dry throat

In long-term chronic inflammation, when antibiotics are abused, the symptoms related to inflammation are often extremely atypical, and are simply manifested as dry throat. In addition, nasal congestion can cause the patient to breathe through the mouth when lying flat. Over time, it often manifests as dry throat in the morning.

2. Chronic pharyngitis

1. Throat discomfort

If you experience some discomfort in your body, especially some discomfort in your throat, you should seek treatment in time, as the throat is an important organ of the human body.

There will be a feeling of discomfort in the throat, as if there is a foreign object in the throat and there is pain, which is especially obvious after talking for a long time. A long rest is required.

2. Changes in voice

It can range from hoarseness, "roughness", hoarseness, to complete loss of voice. The patient feels that his speech is lighter and weaker, and his tone becomes lower, dull and labored. These symptoms are alleviated or disappear after silent treatment, but reappear after resuming the use of the voice, and the symptoms are sometimes better and sometimes worse, over and over again.

3. Cough and throat clearing

Before speaking or singing, there is often a throat-clearing sound of wanting to cough out the secretions in the throat. The secretions in the throat increase, and there is often a feeling of phlegm sticking to the throat. Every time you speak, you have to cough to clear the sticky phlegm. This situation is often caused by the patient shouting too much.
