How to clean earwax, what are the methods and steps

Generally, if there is a lot of earwax, you can clean it yourself. The method is relatively simple, mainly using tweezers and earwax hooks. If the earwax becomes solid and large, it will be impossible to remove it by yourself, and you will need to go to a formal and professional place to have it cleaned.

If the situation is not serious, we can clean it up ourselves. Specifically, we can adopt the following three methods.

【1】If the tumor is small or in flake form, it can be removed with tweezers.

【2】Cerumen hook removal method.

【3】External auditory canal flushing method. Before flushing, the earwax needs to be expanded and 5% sodium bicarbonate solution can be dripped into the ear. After 3 to 4 days, wait until it is fully or partially expanded before flushing.

2 If the condition is serious or even there is infection, please go to the hospital for timely medical treatment. The ear canal is deep and curved, so it is easy to damage the ear canal if you pick your ears yourself. Earwax is difficult to pick out and may get pushed further inwards. Go to a regular hospital to remove earwax.

[1] During a visit to the hospital, if the doctor finds that the ear is blocked but there are no other symptoms, he or she will prescribe a bottle of sodium bicarbonate ear drops to soften the earwax. When using ear drops, it is generally necessary to drip them continuously for two or three days, and drip them frequently. Lie on your side for a while after dripping.

[2] After applying the drops, go to the hospital for flushing as scheduled. The doctor will tell you not to move while flushing. It will be a little painful when wiping the external auditory canal with a cotton swab, so don't be afraid. If there is congestion in the ear, it means there is inflammation and you should take some anti-inflammatory medicine.

【3】For patients with concurrent infection, the infection should be controlled first, and then the earwax should be removed after the infection is controlled.
