Many people are familiar with liver function tests, which are used in medicine to detect various indicators of liver function. Clinically, there are many items in liver function tests, but the more important items still need to be known. The five liver function tests are very necessary. 1. Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), the normal range is 5-40u/l. It is an important indicator of liver function problems. When the content in the body is high, it means that the liver is damaged; 2. Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) is mainly present in the mitochondria in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes, and the normal value range is 8-40 u/l. If the aspartate aminotransferase level in the body is elevated and higher than the alanine aminotransferase level, it means that the liver is severely damaged. 3. Direct bilirubin (DBIL), the reference value range is 0-7umol/L. If it increases, it means that the patient may suffer from intrahepatic and extrahepatic obstructive jaundice. 4. Indirect bilirubin (IBIL) is mainly caused by the destruction of red blood cells. The reference value range is 0-14 umol/L. If it is too high, it means that the red blood cells are damaged and the liver is diseased. 5. Total bilirubin (TBIL), which is the sum of direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin, has a reference value range of 2-20 umol/L. A high level in the body indicates jaundice. 6. Liver function test is to extract human serum and use a machine to detect changes in the serum components, thereby determining the degree of liver damage and possible causes of liver damage. There are also a few sayings that equate the five-item liver function test with the five-item hepatitis B test. The five-item hepatitis B test is an important means to determine whether you are infected with the hepatitis B virus, while the liver function test includes many items. The two tests are completely different examination items. 7. Once any of the five liver function tests are abnormal, it will have a direct impact on the human body and even threaten life. Therefore, patients with liver disease must go to a regular liver disease hospital for liver function tests. Once any abnormality is found, treatment should be sought immediately to avoid delaying the disease. When liver function indicators are abnormal, do not blindly take medicine to correct them, but go to a specialist hospital for consultation. If hepatitis B patients find any of the above five items in the test results of liver function, they should be alert and conduct further examinations and treatment in time. In addition, they should pay attention to fasting before liver function tests. |
