What should an adult do if he has a high fever and his whole body is burning?

Fever is very common in life, and adults can also have high fever. Generally, patients with high fever will feel that their body is burning hot and feel very uncomfortable. The general treatment method can be combined with physical cooling and antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs.

1. Physical cooling: Apply a wet towel to the forehead, armpits and groin, or use alcohol bath. When I arrived at the hospital, I even used saline enema to reduce my fever. This is effective for all types of fever, especially high fever and children. It is particularly important to protect brain tissue and cardiopulmonary function, and also buy time for drug treatment.

2. General measures to reduce body temperature: ① Drink more water. Drinking more water can physically reduce body temperature. The extra urine and sweat produced can also take away a lot of heat and replenish the water lost due to high fever. ② Ventilation can take away the heat from the body surface, reduce the bacterial density in the air, and avoid secondary infection.

3. Antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs: If the above measures cannot control the fever, you have to use antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs, which can regulate the body temperature center and achieve the purpose of cooling down.

4. Antibiotics and antivirals: If you have symptoms of bacterial infection such as runny nose, you should use antibiotics. If your lymphocyte count is elevated, you should use antiviral drugs such as interferon. If your fever cannot be controlled, you should also consider regular use. Remember that these are prescription drugs and you must go to the hospital, not the pharmacy.

5. Hormones: Sometimes, for emergency cooling and to protect brain and cardiopulmonary functions, hormones can be considered. The use of hormones is more strict and must be followed according to the doctor's advice.
