Is meningitis contagious?

Is meningitis contagious? Many people will have this question, and the answer is possible. Meningitis is a pathological phenomenon of neuromuscular spasm. People with meningitis will lose their appetite, just like suffering from anorexia. Since meningitis is contagious, especially people with poor resistance or children are most susceptible to infection. Therefore, we must strengthen exercise, improve resistance, and keep children away from patients with meningitis.

Meningitis is an infection of the delicate meninges (the membrane between the skull and the brain), usually as a complication of a bacterial or viral infection anywhere in the body, such as an ear, sinus, or upper respiratory tract infection. Meningitis is a particularly serious illness that requires prompt treatment. If not treated promptly, death or permanent brain damage may occur within hours. Viral meningitis is more serious, but most people can recover completely, while a few have sequelae.

Meningitis is an inflammation of the brain. The meninges are the thin membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. This meninges has three layers. The first layer is the outer membrane, called the dura mater, which is connected to the skull; the second layer is the arachnoid membrane; the last layer is the innermost layer, called the pia mater, which is attached to the brain. Infection of these membranes is usually caused by invasion of bacteria or viruses. There are several ways that infection can reach the meninges. So, is encephalitis contagious? The infection may come from other parts of the body, such as the infected lungs. Spread through the bloodstream. They can also spread from infected ears or sinuses through spaces in the skull and into the brain. Do you know now that encephalitis is contagious? In fact, it is very clear that encephalitis is also contagious to a certain extent. For children, the infection rate can spread quickly, so parents should pay more attention to their children's daily lives.

Viral brain: caused by various viral infections, such as mumps virus, enterovirus, herpes simplex virus and adenovirus, etc., and is generally not contagious. It can be seen that not all cases of meningitis are contagious. Symptoms of meningitis vary depending on the pathogen. Children at different ages may experience different symptoms of meningitis. In infants and young children, the onset of meningitis varies, some may be slow, some may be acute. When an infant's brain edema occurs due to inflammation, if the anterior fontanelle has not yet closed and the sutures have separated, the swelling can be relieved by the fontanelle and the sutures, and the infant will not show obvious symptoms such as headache and vomiting, but will scream and bang his head.
