What to do if your ears are running and smelly

Ear discharge and odor are both symptoms. Clinically, these symptoms are mostly caused by otitis media and can only be treated symptomatically after diagnosis. If the ear discharge is caused by otitis media and smells bad, the patient can directly use medication to clean the ears.

1. This may be caused by otitis media. You can first use hydrogen peroxide to rinse the inside of the ear to remove the pus and blood (hydrogen peroxide will bubble out when it enters the ear, and the first things to come out are the pus, blood and dirt inside). Rinse it up to 3 times, and the time should not exceed 20 minutes. Clean it with a cotton swab, and then inject anti-inflammatory powder into it (you can just open the anti-inflammatory capsule).

2. Otitis media is an inflammatory lesion involving all or part of the structure of the middle ear (including the Eustachian tube, tympanic cavity, tympanic sinus and mastoid air cells). Most of them are non-specific inflammations, especially common in children. Focal diseases of the upper respiratory tract should be actively treated. The simple type is mainly treated with local medication: antibiotic aqueous solution or a mixture of antibiotics and steroid hormones can be used.

3. It may also be caused by temporomandibular arthritis. If the pain is not persistent, it is generally not a big problem. I suggest you continue to observe. If necessary, you can take some anti-inflammatory drugs, such as amoxicillin capsules, etc. However, I suggest you continue to observe.

4. Otitis media can also be treated with levofloxacin and metronidazole, and chloramphenicol after cleaning with hydrogen peroxide. The specific medication method and dosage must be used after the actual diagnosis doctor has conducted a detailed examination of you. In addition, pay attention to your diet and do not eat irritating foods, and never drink alcohol.
