What are the symptoms of acute myocardial infarction?

Acute myocardial infarction is a particularly harmful disease that poses a great threat to human health, especially for middle-aged and elderly people. If you are overworked in your daily life or are too emotional, it is easy to cause such an illness. There are often some signs before the onset of the disease. Understanding the signs of these diseases will help better prevent them. For example, there may be pain in the precordial area, low blood pressure, and some intestinal diseases.

1. Hypotension and shock:

Hypotension in many elderly patients may be caused by acute myocardial ischemia, insufficient blood volume due to excessive sweating and vomiting, or the effects of certain vasodilators, sedatives and other drugs. It may last for several weeks and then rise, but often cannot return to its previous level. The patient shows symptoms of slow reaction, pale complexion, sweating on the forehead, neck and extremities, low skin temperature, and even oliguria. The systolic blood pressure is 80-90 mmHg or a drop of more than 60 mmHg from the original baseline blood pressure.

2. Systemic symptoms:

The main symptom is fever, which is caused by the absorption of necrotic substances. It usually occurs 24 to 48 hours after the onset of pain. The severity is often positively correlated with the extent of infarction. The body temperature is generally 38. c, rarely exceeding 39°C, and lasts for about a week. If the fever persists for more than one week or reappears after disappearing, or the high fever exceeds 39°C, you should suspect and look for concurrent infection. Secondly, you should pay attention to whether there is new development of myocardial infarction, embolic complications or post-myocardial infarction syndrome.

3. Gastrointestinal symptoms:

Gastrointestinal symptoms play an important role in myocardial infarction. About 30% of people under 60 years old experience it. Severe chest pain is often accompanied by recurrent nausea, vomiting, and upper abdominal distension and pain, but this symptom is not as common in the elderly as imagined. Statistics from several groups of larger cases at home and abroad show that the incidence rate ranges from 2.7% to 9.9%.

4. Pain:

It is the first symptom to appear, mostly occurring in the early morning. The location and nature of the pain are the same as those of angina pectoris, but there is usually no obvious cause. It often occurs at rest and is more severe and lasts longer, up to several hours or days. Rest and taking nitroglycerin tablets often cannot provide relief. Patients often feel restless, sweaty, fearful, or have a sense of impending death. A small number of patients have no pain and present with shock or acute heart failure at the beginning. Some patients experience pain in the upper abdomen, which is mistakenly diagnosed as acute abdominal diseases such as gastric perforation and acute pancreatitis. Some patients experience pain radiating to the jaw, neck, and upper back, which is mistakenly considered to be bone and joint pain.
